  • Bespoke guidance for registering new ECTs

To fulfil their obligation to provide an Early Career Training Programme, based on the ITTECF framework, schools have two options:

Provider-led ECTP
A fully funded provider-led programme, offering high quality training for ECTs and their mentors, alongside professional development materials. (The Teaching School Hub offer this in partnership with Teach First).

School-led ECTP
Schools can draw on high quality professional development materials, accredited by the DfE, to design and deliver their own ECT and mentor training. Schools designing their own training must ensure that it covers the ITTECF in full and additional checks will be made by the Appropriate Body.

Pricing for Appropriate Body services reflects the differing levels of fidelity checks required by the DfE, depending on the option selected for ECTP.

Provider-led ECTP - £190 per ECT, per year.

School-led ECTP - Where schools use ALL of the DfE accredited materials to design an ECTP, there will be an upfront charge of £500 per school (to cover a 2-year period) PLUS £190 per ECT, per year.

School-led ECTP - Where schools DO NOT USE ALL of the accredited materials and also use their own materials, there will be an upfront charge of £1000 per school (to cover a 2-year period) PLUS £190 per ECT, per year.
