Additional Funding for NPQs

Targeted support funding is available to primary schools, and secondary schools with less than 600 students, to help with cover costs where colleagues are undertaking an NPQ.

For colleagues who start an NPQ in the 2023-24 academic year, and meet the eligibility criteria, the following grant funding will apply:

  • state-funded primary schools with 1 to 150 pupils will receive a grant payment of £800
  • state-funded primary schools with more than 150 pupils will receive a grant payment of £200
  • state-funded secondary schools and state-funded 16 to 19 educational settings with 1 to 600 pupils will receive a grant payment of £200

There is no need to apply for this funding; it will be paid as part of normal payments from the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), and payments will be made during the summer term 2024.

For further information on the grant funding, or for details of how staff can apply for a FULLY FUNDED Teach First NPQ, please contact us or visit Leicester & Leicestershire Teaching School Hub - National Professional Qualifications (NPQs)
