ECTs working with EAL learners: Free self access courses

Research shows that new teachers don't feel confident about meeting the needs of learners with EAL, and with such a packed programme for ECTs, it can be a challenge to find either the time, or the expertise, to bridge this gap.

The Bell Foundation have developed a free self-access course for ECTs, which aligns directly with the ECF. The 9 modules are designed so that busy teachers can select which ones are most relevant to them. There are also suggestions for how to explore the learning in the classroom - with a set of notes for ECT mentors.

You can find out more about the modules - including how to access them- here: Early Career Teachers - The Bell Foundation

If you are interested in accessing other EAL training from one of their licenced practitioners, you can find out more here: Regional Training - The Bell Foundation.
